About this position
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and reliable operation of manufacturing equipment.
The position supports safe, consistent, and efficient production by identifying equipment problems, completing repairs, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, and communicating equipment conditions and corrective actions to Operations and Maintenance leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform preventive maintenance as a major part of the position and complete assigned maintenance activities in a timely and thorough manner.
· Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial production equipment and systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
· Diagnose equipment problems using schematics, prints, technical drawings, manuals, manufacturer instructions, engineering specifications, observation, and independent evaluation.
· Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC drives, HMIs, starters, contactors, relays, and basic control circuits, including timers, switches, signals, and safety devices.
· Inspect, adjust, align, repair, and replace motors, gearboxes, couplings, roller chains, sprockets, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and production machinery.
· Locate sources of mechanical problems by observing equipment in operation, listening for abnormalities, and using appropriate diagnostic and precision measuring tools.
· Dismantle equipment and remove defective parts using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and other approved equipment as required.
· Inspect used parts and determine dimensional or wear conditions using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
· Adjust functional parts and control devices using hand tools, levels, alignment equipment, and proper maintenance techniques.
· Help control equipment downtime by communicating equipment conditions, preventive maintenance needs, and corrective actions to production and maintenance leadership.
· Document maintenance actions, communicate irregularities, and coordinate follow-up repairs or corrective work to maintain continuity between teams.
· Use maintenance tools, parts, supplies, and equipment responsibly and efficiently.
· Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all Crown safety rules, required PPE, Lockout/Tagout requirements, and applicable procedures.
· Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned to support plant operations.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Five (5) years or more of manufacturing maintenance experience in an industrial or military environment.
· Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and/or electrical equipment.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
· Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, safe equipment use, and maintenance practices.
· Valid driver's license.
· Ability and willingness to work overtime, Saturdays, and schedule variations as business needs require.

Physical and Work Environment
· Work is performed in an active manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, heat, humidity, grease, moving machinery, and industrial equipment.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and work around production equipment.
· Ability to safely use hand and power tools and perform maintenance activities requiring manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
· Ability to lift, carry, move, and position tools, parts, and equipment as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
· Required PPE must be worn in accordance with the company's safety requirements.
